He was on the turf motionless for a least a minute if not longer. If he does in fact have a Grade 3 concussion & would get another one a week or two later it could be life threatening & permanent brain damage.

The young man is only 22, 23 and suffered a very serious injury that could be life altering. Right after it happened, I immediately began to pray for him because it looked bad, I mean Darryl Stingley (paralysis) bad. I just don't think the Saints medical staff & trainers are taking a chance with it.

Side note: IMO I don't think the Saints staff handled Swann's triple concussion situation well last year. Hopefully he has no long term effects.

Well if it is indeed that high of a grade, then I can understand. But all I heard was that is was all good news. I wasn't given any indication that it was anything other than a regular concussion. I was worried about him as well when they were having to immobilize him. But that isn't the most uncommon medical practice if the doctors even think there might be a serious problem.

So I just took Payton's comments the other day to mean that it was a concussion and he might miss a few weeks. While we're all relieved he didn't suffer spinal damage, it seems that Sean's initial comments really downplayed the situation a bit much.

this is not true, teams don't really care who starts they just put names in a hat and choose, or best of three rocks, papers, scissors.

Rock, paper, and scissors will all be playing this week. Therein lies the problem.

Second time in a week that I saw Jason David's name on this board.
You know a lot of us paid good money to Psychotherapists to get
him out of our heads.

He wasn't a good CB, but he gave it 110% on every play and never blamed anyone else. If Jonathan Sullivan had 1/2 the heart and drive Jason David had, he would have been a multiple pro bowler.

What about Fred Thomas? AKA highway 22.

I agree. I met him once and he was a super nice guy. We actually had a long conversation that had nothing to do with sports. He has a very positive outlook on life and believes in the process of positive thinking

Jason David excelled in the Cover 2. He was doomed to failure the way he was used.

David was a zone CB who we put on an island as a boundary CB. His failure had more to do with us assuming he was more than a NB or DB.

It hurts my feelings when people ridicule him, he was a class player

Like Danno said

Keenan Lewis - Gone - next man up
Delvin Breaux - Gone - next man up
PJ Williams - Gone - next man up
Kyle Williams - Gone - next man up
Damian Swann - Gone - next man up

6th man up and on is getting mighty thin

It hurts your feelings? Really dude? People didn't ridicule him as a person. His play was ridiculed, and he was terrible here.

It doesn't really matter how they used him. He signed a big money deal and knew exactly what they wanted him to do. He wasn't forced to sign that deal. You follow the money, you don't produce, you don't get much sympathy.

The subject of misusing players is a different story. It's been brought up plenty. But questioning the wisdom of management and coaches is generally frowned upon.

The obvious priority is for P.J. Williams to get healthy...

That said, his resolve will really be tested as he rebuilds himself for next season...

And there's gonna be some serious competition around here next season with all the IR'd players coming back as well as any possible FA's as well as draft picks...
